HIFU is a non-surgical, skin tightening treatment that uses High Intensity Focused Ultrasound which can be adapted to target varying depths of the skin.

Also known as the ‘lunchtime face lift’, this treatment can address areas of loose or sagging skin on the face and neck.

Lifting the skin on the face can help to improve the visible signs of ageing, for a firmer and more youthful complexion.

The skin starts to lose elasticity as we age and when combined with a declining production of collagen, can result in the skin losing firmness and volume. This can then lead to the facial features changing in definition as the skin develops lines and wrinkles and becomes loose around the cheeks, jawline and brows.

By tightening the skin and restoring the contouring of the face it can help to improve the texture of the complexion, helping with the signs of an ageing appearance.

The treatment involves moving a handheld device over the areas of concern, which works to target the SMAS layer of the skin’s structure (a layer of tissue that is located deep within the skin). Delivering ultrasound energy stimulates the fibroblasts which helps to remodel collagen in the skin, as well as helping fatty tissue to contract.

Working from the inside out, it is these effects that enables the surface layer of the skin to effectively lift and tighten. The results produce a smoother texture of the skin, with restored contouring of the face.

Although a great treatment for reducing a variety of common facial concerns, including: lines and wrinkles, jowls, nasolabial folds, double chin and loose skin on the cheeks, HIFU can also be used to improve loose skin on other areas of the body.

A popular treatment with both patients and clinics alike, a consultation at Ambra Aesthetic Clinic takes an in-depth look at your conditions and can advise on the best course of action for you. Immediately following treatment your skin will feel tighter and firmer, with the full outcome visible in around 90 days.
