Teeth can often become darker and more yellow in colour as a person ages; gradually changing over a period of time as the enamel starts to wear down and dentin (the layer below the enamel) becomes more visible. Certain foods or drinks, such as: Red wine, black coffee, carbonated drinks, blueberries and foods that are high in sugar, can all contribute to a discolouration of the teeth, as can smoking, poor dental hygiene and genetics.
Dr. Maryam McMillan is a registered dentist and is well experienced in the field of aesthetic dentistry. Teeth whitening at Ambra Aesthetic Clinic uses carbamide peroxide gel (provided only by registered dentists), for safe and long-lasting results.
A mould will need to be created, in order to produce a gel tray that will fit perfectly over your own teeth. This cover will then be filled with the peroxide gel and will need to be worn over the teeth while you are sleeping for a period of two weeks, when you will see noticeable results.
When the teeth become more yellow in colour, a person may feel their smile makes them look older than they want to appear. This can lead to feelings of self-consciousness, with a need to refrain from smiling and laughing in front of others.
Whitening the teeth can lift these impacted feelings, with an elevated confidence that they have a great smile.

AM I SUITABLE FOR TEETH WHITENING?
Teeth whitening is beneficial for people who have found their teeth to become discoloured and look more yellow in colour. IS TEETH WHITENING SAFE?
Carbamide peroxide gel should only be used by a trained, qualified and registered dentist, such as Dr. Maryam McMillan. Ambra Aesthetic Clinic uses only medically approved products, performed by appropriately trained practitioners. Strict guidelines for ensuring the safety and well-being of all patients are followed at all times.
IS TEETH WHITENING PAINFUL?
By taking a mould of your teeth, the gel tray should fit over your teeth perfectly and ensure it is completely comfortable to wear. This is reflected by its intended use as an overnight procedure, enabling you to be able to sleep at the same time you are wearing it.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS OR RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH TEETH WHITENING?
Ambra Aesthetic Clinic will recommend that you attend a consultation prior to the commencement of any treatment. During this informal assessment, your condition will be looked at in detail and all associated risks and subsequent effects that may result will be explained in full.
IS THERE ANY ASSOCIATED DOWNTIME?
The end results from this treatment will take around 2 weeks to fully develop. The gel will need to be applied in the tray overnight, but there will be no downtime incurred between applications.

Ambra Aesthetics are the place to go to for professional, friendly service. You don’t need to go to Harley Street. Dr M and her team are all experts and really take care of you giving the best treatments and advice. Sam on the front desk is a dream. In lots of places the staff can look scary from doing too much but Ambra you can tell it’s all about discrete subtle tweakments. . Don’t hesitate to go!
