About

Aerolase Neo

Aerolase can be used to help improve the overall condition of the skin, addressing a range of common ageing-related concerns, including: hyperpigmentation (age spots, melasma), fine lines, wrinkles, facial redness/rosacea, and mild skin laxity (sagging skin).

Following a course of Aerolase treatment sessions in our North London clinic, the conditions that have contributed to a tired-looking appearance will start to soften. This will help to restore smoother, more evenly toned skin that also experiences a subtle lift.

During Aerolase treatment, the handpiece is passed over the skin’s surface, delivering powerful light energy to the deeper layers of the dermis. This energy is drawn to the water, haemoglobin, and melanin (pigment) in the skin, which turns to thermal energy, gently heating the targeted tissues without affecting any of the surrounding skin. As the lightwaves infiltrate the skin at a rapid pulse rate, this helps to ensure a straightforward treatment that is quick and comfortable. By heating the tissues in the affected area, it will stimulate the fibers for increased collagen and elastin, as well as fragmenting any pigmented cells and unwanted thread veins. This leads to a clearer, brighter complexion with softer wrinkles and lifted skin.

The Aerolase platform also includes an application that effectively targets acne and acne scarring - NeoClear. The Aerolase treatment focuses on reducing the main causes of breakouts (bacteria, excess oil, and inflammation) to lessen the frequency and severity of spots and pimples in our North London clinic. Additionally, the production of new collagen can create smoother skin that’s affected by indentations from scarring.

FAQ

How Does Aerolase Work?

Aerolase Neo uses 1064nm Nd:YAG laser technology delivered in short pulses. Within acne treatment, it can be used as part of a programme aimed at reducing the factors associated with inflammatory breakouts and improving the appearance of acne-related redness. Treatment is non-invasive and does not require needles.

What Can Aerolase Treat?

Depending on assessment, Aerolase may be used for concerns including active acne, inflammatory breakouts, facial redness, rosacea-prone appearance, unwanted pigmentation, uneven tone, vascular concerns, overall skin quality.
Its versatility is one reason we use it frequently within combination skin programmes.

Can Aerolase treat active acne?

At Ambra, active acne is one of the key reasons we use Aerolase Neo. Rather than positioning Aerolase simply as a general facial rejuvenation laser, we use it particularly where inflammation, active breakouts, redness and post-acne changes form part of the patient's concern

Is aerolase suitable for both active acne and acne scarring?

This distinction is important. Active acne and structural acne scars are different conditions.
Aerolase can be particularly useful during the active inflammatory stage. Once acne is better controlled, deeper structural scarring may require treatments such as CO2 resurfacing, RF microneedling, microneedling, plasma or combination treatment.

AM I SUITABLE FOR AEROLASE NEO?

Aerolase Neo is found to be suitable for many people experiencing the signs of ageing, and is effective when used on almost all skin types and tones. Common signs of ageing include: jowls, lines and wrinkles, facial redness, age spots and sun damage which can be improved with the use of Aerolase Neo. Maintaining a fresher appearance requires regular sessions, combined with a suitable skincare regime.

We do not automatically put every acne patient onto the same laser course. Aerolase may be used alone, alongside skincare or as one stage within a wider acne and skin-recovery programme.

IS AEROLASE NEO SAFE?

This treatment utilises 650-microsecond laser technology. It is approved by the FDA as being a safe, effective and gentle treatment for skin rejuvenation.

IS AEROLASE NEO PAINFUL?

During the treatment you may feel a slight warming of the skin. Most patients report this as being very tolerable. Post-treatment discomfort is unlikely.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS OR RISKS?

Aerolase Neo is a low risk treatment. In most cases, red skin develops as a side effect which disappears within a few hours.

IS THERE ANY ASSOCIATED DOWNTIME?

As the treatment is non-invasive and low risk, there is very little chance of experiencing significant downtime. The majority of patients are able to leave the clinic and continue with their usual daily tasks.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Acne is rarely a one-session condition. The number and frequency of treatments will depend on your skin, severity of acne, response and any other elements of your treatment programme.
