Non-Surgical Thread Lift / Mint™
The ageing process affects everyone to some degree, and the way the face changes in appearance will vary from person to person. In general, weakening of the skin’s structure and facial muscles will lead to the development of various ageing-related conditions. Concerns such as frown lines, forehead lines, crow’s feet, nose to mouth lines, a downturned mouth and jowls can affect the look of an appearance that is youthfully fresh and energetic.
At Ambra Aesthetic Clinic we may recommend the MINT™ treatment as a safe and effective anti-ageing solution. MINT stands for Minimally Invasive Non-surgical Threads which are made from absorbable polydioxanone – a material for sutures that has been used in the medical industry for many years. The tiny threads are inserted just beneath the surface of the skin at specific areas around the face. They attach themselves to the sagging skin which can then be adjusted to help create the lifting effect. Polydioxanone also has the ability to stimulate the production of new collagen which helps to improve the firmness and flexibility of the skin.
Our practitioners will prescribe a course of antibiotics for you to take before and after the treatment which helps to reduce the risks of developing complications. A single treatment is all that is required for long-term results that revitalise the appearance and temporarily pause the signs of ageing. Many of our patients report a noticeable difference immediately after the treatment, which can last for up to 12 months.

AM I SUITABLE FOR A NON-SURGICAL THREAD LIFT?
MINT™ can be suitable for many men and women who are concerned by the appearance of ageing. Ambra Aesthetic Clinic will carry out a thorough consultation to determine your suitability, and establish the type of results that you can expect to achieve.
IS MINT™ SAFE?
This treatment is FDA approved and uses a soft material that is naturally absorbed into the tissues over a period of 6 – 8 months. Polydioxanone is a safe material that has been used in the medical industry for many years.
IS MINT™ PAINFUL?
Injecting into the skin can be slightly uncomfortable which is why Ambra Aesthetic Clinic will use the most appropriate form of anaesthesia for your individual level of comfort. During the consultation we will discuss the use of a topical numbing cream or a local anaesthetic.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS OR RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH MINT™?
The side effects that one experiences with this treatment are usually minor. Typically, slight swelling, redness and bruising will be seen where the threads have been inserted, which will ease over a few days.
HOW MUCH DOWNTIME CAN I EXPECT FROM MINT™?
In most cases the patient takes it easy for the rest of the day, returning to their usual routine within 24 hours. Aftercare will be discussed at the consultation.

I went to see Dr McMillan for the first time about a year ago so she could revise some badly done under eye filler NOT DONE BY DR MCMILLAN, and she’s done the most fantastic job i had terrible anxiety from the previous injector and was very nervous, I did so much research but decided to go ahead with Dr McMillan as she was so reassuring and honest with it all

Ambra Aesthetics are the place to go to for professional, friendly service. You don’t need to go to Harley Street. Dr M and her team are all experts and really take care of you giving the best treatments and advice. Sam on the front desk is a dream. In lots of places the staff can look scary from doing too much but Ambra you can tell it’s all about discrete subtle tweakments. . Don’t hesitate to go!
